Jericho Hill

John R. “Johnny” Cash is widely considered to be one of the most influential American musicians of the 20th century. His legacy continues to inspire many, including Crowned Heads. Jericho Hill was inspired by Cash’s rendition of “Cocaine Blues,” found on Cash’s 1968 live album, “At Folsom Prison.” The song is a tale of a man, Willy Lee, who goes down a dark path brought on by the influence of whiskey and cocaine. Willy is captured in Juarez, Mexico, and is brought to justice by the sheriff from Jericho Hill.

Cash was the fourth of seven children, and Jericho Hill marks the fourth regular production release from Crowned Heads.  The four vitola names were all inspired by lyrics and music found on “At Folsom Prison,” and when recited from smallest to largest (.44S, LBV, OBS, and Willy Lee), take on a lyrical element of their own.

The smoke is a full-throttle experience that assaults your palate at break-neck speed, races around your mouth for a hundred miles, and leaves your taste buds in a cloud of power, intensity, and excitement.

Jon Huber – So glad you started Crowed Heads. Love the inspiration for your cigars, too. I had to listen to Led Zeppelin as I smoked Headley Grange. Just read about Jericho Hill and had to listen to JC. “Early one morning while making the rounds, I took a shot of cocaine and shot my women down!” Smoking the Angel’s Anvil right now and LOVE IT! Keep doing what you’re doing!

Absolutely Love what you folks are doing with your cigars…truly outstanding blends that I always look forward to ashing!! Can you give a guy some idea which sites / B&M’s will be carrying your Jericho line? Even though I understand these will be an annual production I’d like to get some of the Original release ones when they hit stores.

Thanks for your time and Please Keep up the Great Work!!

    Regards,

    Paul Duquette

As a huge fan of your other lines, I couldn’t wait for this one. I smoked my first Jericho Hill last night. I purchased it locally at a place called TJ’s Cigar Lounge in McGregor, Texas. I had the Willy Lee. It was a fantastic, bold cigar that I enjoyed immensely. I will be purchasing more.

Yesterday I was given a Jericho Hill stick, (Willy Lee), for doing a friend a favor. Only after lighting it I checked out the name on the ban to see what exactly I was enjoying; I somewhat trust my friend’s judgement in selecting a good cigar. Well, let me tell you, I was blown away…the draw was spot on and the flavor was to my taste quintessential Nicaraguan, the construction was no joke either! So today I decided to do a little research and was quite pleasantly surprised (but not entirely), that Nicaraguan long fillers are used in its construction. Ya see, I’ve been enjoying cigars for over 50 years and I think that I have a reasonable grasp of what leaves are used in these ‘sticks of pleasure’. I actually thought I had a Padron…by the way, I started buying Padrons when their Executive line was available, now I enjoy their 7000s.
So in closing, I would like to thank you, Crowned Heads, for being purveyors of such a line of fine cigars.
PS I WILL be purchasing a couple of boxes for the holidays. To be honest, it really doesn’t matter what time of the year it was, I’d still buy them. I truely enjoy fine cigars!

    Thanx Arnaz

Went into Nat Sherman’s at E 42nd @ 5th and told Ryan Bathurst what type of flavor profile I liked and he suggested Jericho Hill robusto. He really paid attention b/c I think this is an excellent cigar. The first few puffs will get your attention quickly, and then you start a journey that just keeps getting better. Wonderful flavor and chocolate room note.

Well done. This is a box buy.

This cigar was recommended to me by a saleswoman at a JR Cigars location in NC, USA, according to my taste. I absolutely love this cigar and the price for quality cannot be beat. This is truly one of the best cigars I have ever smoked – Bold and flavorful, not peppery, consistent and smooth all the way to the butt. This is a cigar that matches the most expensive cigars on the market today that I have tried for less than half the cost. FABULOUS SMOKE and a MUST!!!
